Selection Process: The selection process will be carried out in two stages, the first one is Preliminary Examination & second stage is the Main Examination conducted by IBPS.
1. Common Online Examination: Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) conducts Online Exam for Clerical Cadre posts. The examination will be two-tier i.e. the online examination will be held in two phases, preliminary and main. Total marks of the Preliminary exam is 100 in a duration of 1 hour for objective type questions & total marks of the Main exam is 200 in a duration of 2 hours for objective type questions. All the tests except the Test of English Language will be available bilingually, i.e. English and Hindi.
A candidate should qualify both in the preliminary & Main Examination and be sufficiently high in the merit to be shortlisted for subsequent provisional allotment process, details of which will be made available subsequently on IBPS website.
Cut-off and Negative Marking:
The candidates shall be required to qualify in each objective test as per the cut-off marks determined by individual banks. There will be the penalty for wrong answers marked in the objective tests which will result in negative marks for every wrong answer i.e., one fourth or 0.25 of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted.
Stage 2 Common Interviews:
Candidates who clear the written test are called for interview. IBPS now have the complete control over recruiting, placing professionals in all public sector banks in India. Since they have announced that the interview will be conducted by them self and not by the participating banks. And prepare a final merit list will be used to recruit the candidates directly to the banking position.
Personal Interview is conducted to check the behaviour, conversation skill, and knowledge about banking and financial topics. Technical questions may come from your previous job (if you are already working), projects that you have done, academic subjects and about the bank also. So, prepare well on one subject from your academic curriculum, do a good research on the bank and rehearsal mock interviews.
Result and Scorecard
- The applicant who has applied for and has given the entrance exam will be available to check their status of result which is published on the IBPS Website.
- IBPS uses the method of cut-off to check final score known as the Total Weighted Standardized Score.
After making the analysis a scorecard is issued to the candidates who secure the minimum Total Weighted Standard Score (TWSS) marks in each subject of the examination. And all the Successful candidates in the CWE will have to go through the common interview. For more detail please visit tarainstitute.com
